Trainees

terrestris is constantly looking for trainees with some experience in web development who are looking for some practice.

You are a college or university student in computer science, geoinformatics or geography. You have worked with JavaScript and a server side scripting language like PHP, Python, Ruby, etc.. Ideally you have worked with the libraries jQuery, Ext JS and/or Symfony. We offer you the possibilty to gain experience working in projects with open source webmapping software. Web-Application Developer

Currently there are no vacancies but feel free to send your CV anyway since we like to know who is looking for a job.

Professional requirements:
The applicant should be an experienced java-script programmer and also have a good grasp of the AJAX libraries JQuery and/or ExtJs. Apart from that skills regarding the following languages/projects/techniques are desirable:

• PHP
• PostgreSQL
• WebGIS/Webmapping in general
• OpenLayers
• GeoExt
• MapFish
• Mapbender

Experience dealing with WMS, WFS, etc. in conjunction with UMN Mapserver/GeoServer are a plus but need not be. We do not reject you if you have experience with other programming languages and we don’t mind working with beginners in the professional field.
