The Federal Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (BLE) houses the competence center for geo-information and remote sensing (CC G+F) of the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection (BMELV). Due to these circumstances the BLE is tasked to develop and operate a spatial data infrastructure (SDI) within the portfolio of the BMELV. The companies terrestris and SimpleThings created a successful bidding consortium as in the case of the geoportal Berlin/Brandenburg and were awarded the contract to implement the SDI using open source software components. terrestris is looking forward to the collaboration with all participants involved!
