Get to know the answer to this question in the specialist bed retailer Auping Plaza Bonn on Thursday, 15th of September 2016 at 7.30 pm.

On this evening, the general manager of mundialis, Hinrich Paulsen, will give a lecture on “Why does remote sensing have something to do with art?”.

Just visit the lecture and convince yourself of the extraordinary images. Marvel at the fascinating cooperation between science and design. Current satellite data are visualized professionally and in high resolution. Thereby we use the full spectrum of spectral wavelengths, which can be found within the raw data. The result are high-quality pictures which are aesthetically impressive.

Shapes of the coastline with a high recognitive value or abstract consolidations for surprising colourful desert landscapes in Asia – the Earth offers numerous motifs.

The pictures show compositions taken from different channels based on Sentinel-2 data of the Copernicus programme. Sentinel-2 data are multi-spectral satellite images that are freely disposable. After the download, the scene was atmospheric-corrected and with the help of the different bands a composition was calculated.australia
